AAEW also had conducted several important academic event, as the way to ful fill the AAEW objectives. In July 2016, AAEW and National University of Singapore, hosted AAEW Case Study teaching event, in which the AAEW members and participants learnt together about the usefulness of case study and how to develop case study. In November 2016, AAEW and Universitas Padjadjaran co – hosted 2nd International Conference on Emergence Accounting Issues (ICEAI).
In this conference, various high-quality papers were presented, and several best papers submitted to international reputable journals. In December 2017, AAEW, nACPAE Philiphinnes, De La Salle University and Far Eastern University co-hosted the IFRS Update and Research Forum. This workshop provide comparison about IFRS updates and its impact to financial statement preparations, and discussed research opportunities for development of ASEAN accountant profession. In July 2018, AAEW and SIT Singapore co-hosted the Symposium on Application of Technologies in Accounting Education, which discussed the technology development and how it would change the accounting education. And in the upcoming event, December 2018, AAEW and Trisakti University will co – host Sustainability Accounting and Business Student Competition and Case Study Workshop. This event will deliver more knowledge regarding sustainability accounting and business theories and practices.
AAEW had produced collaborative research report about ASEAN Accounting Curricula benchmark, led by National University of Singapore, and fully funded by CPA Australia. This report provide detailed analysis of each ASEAN countries accounting curricula, and whether the curricula already matched with accounting professional certification qualification.
